Overview

This role requires an individual with a strong cybersecurity background that is focused on understanding the secure software development and operational security issues of our customer base, and is excited about working in a team dedicated to building software solutions to address those issues.

 

This position will report to the Chief Growth Officer with responsibility to develop solutions for our US Government customers by identifying needs and goals for both existing and new products and services; conducting market research; generating product requirements; determining specifications, production timetables, pricing, and time-integrated plans for product introduction and developing technical strategies. This position involves close interaction with development leads, product architects, and key customers.

 

Job duties include gathering requirements from existing and potential US Government customers as well as recent evaluators, writing requirements documents or Agile product backlogs, and monitoring the implementation of each product or services project.

 

The Director of Product Management will work with GrammaTech’s go-to-market, engineering and product teams and be responsible for managing the lifecycle of features and enhancements. This role requires interaction with product owners, and business growth leadership on requirements, needs, and goals. This role will also work with the architect and engineering teams to define solutions, create level of effort and timeframes for deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees, manages, plans, and coordinates the requirements for development teams and other portfolio activities.
  • Recommends the nature and scope of present and future solution offerings by reviewing product specifications and requirements; appraising new product ideas and/or product or packaging changes.
  • Supports the development of key marketing communication strategies and messages.
  • Leads development of solution briefs, product demos and supporting collateral.
  • Develops product roadmaps and marketing strategies to ensure effective product releases, packaged services offerings, and placement relative to market opportunity over its entire life cycle.
  • Defines technical and business product requirements to ensure roadmap objectives are met.
  • Obtains product market share by working with Chief Growth Officer to develop product sales strategies.
  • Identifies market trends and voice of the customer to drive product and feature requirements and priorities.
  • Supports the assessment of effects of external forces on the company's business posture.
  • Analyzes competitive landscape.
  • Quantifies and communicates the attributes of company products and services to meet customer needs and enhance customer acceptance.
  • Determines the profitability and viability of new products, product enhancements and services.
  • Represents the organization as a technical contact for customer and industry engagements.
  • Interacts with senior internal and external leaders on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Ten or more years’ related work experience with current awareness of the cybersecurity product and services marketplace, trends and competitive positioning, primarily in support of U.S. Government customers.
  • Excellent presentation skills, attention to detail, troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Strong understanding of software development processes and project management methodologies.
  • Experience working in a cybersecurity product or services company and managing software projects.
  • Previous software engineering background/experience
  • US citizen, permanent resident or have protected status 

Preferred

  • Complex problem-solving, strong analytical skills and creative and critical thinking skills
  • Experience gathering requirements from the U.S. Government marketplace and turning them into detailed functional design specifications preferably in an Agile Development setting.
  • High degree of competency with project management

 

The base salary range for this position is $150,000 - $185,000 per year.  This range is based on the Company's good faith estimate at the time of posting. Actual salary will take into consideration various factors such as role level, experience, expertise, and education.
