  • Overview

    The Sr Desktop Support Specialist is expected to schedule, provision and deliver desktop systems and servers.  In consultation with Managers you will develop and tune system configurations and communicate scheduling.  Service delivery will be performed both in-person and through electronic means.  Requests are often interrupt driven while a background of scheduled deliverables will also be maintained.


    Under direction provide:

    • Assistance and office productivity support
    • Install, configure and maintain desktops, laptops, Windows network, servers, network cabling, and other related equipment, devices and systems
    • Add/upgrade and configure disk drives, printers and related equipment
    • Performs and/or oversees software and application installation and upgrades
    • Windows, Mac and Linux daily tasks such as DNS, network, audits, backups and security maintenance
    • Maintains site licenses for department/organization
    • Plans and implements network security, including maintaining firewalls, configuring VPN, managing host security, file permissions, file system integrity, and adding and deleting users
    • Troubleshoots networks, systems and applications to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational difficulties
    • Develops and conducts various training and instruction for system users on operating systems and other applications; assists users in maximizing use of networks and computing systems
    • Maintains confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed by the end-users on the network
    • Provides IT orientation to new and existing company staff



    • BA/BS  and 5+ years relevant experience , or 8 years equivalent combination education and work experience
    • Direct support understanding of Windows 7 and Windows 10 along with MS Office
    • Able to function as first point of contact for all IT requests from onsite employees
    • Service desk driven desktop support experience
    • PC hardware internals
    • Superior communication skills
    • Self-motivated individual and can operate autonomously
    • Attention to detail and well organized
    • Driven to stay ahead of the technology curve thru life-long learning opportunities
    • Diplomacy and the ability to prioritize diverse requests
    • Visa Sponsorship is not provided for this position


    • Mac and Linux system provisioning and management (Highly desirable)
    • Network management
    • Conference room audio and video experience
